The sealant for gas tanks is resistant to aviation fuels, maintaining its strength and dependable seal even after prolonged exposure to fuel, fluctuating temperatures and other hazards of flight. PPG Aerospace® PR-1422 B-1/2 Gasoline Tank Sealant has a service temperature range of -65F (-54°C) to 250°F (121°C), with intermittent excursions up to 275°F (135°C). Once blended, the integral fuel tank sealant should be applied right away as a slow cure begins almost immediately. PPG Aerospace® PR-1422 B-1/2 Sealant is a thixotropic paste when mixed. The low-sag formula makes the aircraft fuel tank sealant ideal for vertical or horizontal applications using an extrusion gun or spatula. The B-1/2 sealant bonds readily to most common aircraft substrates.
